Good evening, Ringwood,
The team have been busy over the weekend investigating various incidents and carrying out proactive work in marked and unmarked vehicles.
On Saturday an unmarked patrol went to look for a Ford Fiesta that has been involved in anti-social behaviour around Ringwood. By chance the vehicle was present near Moyles Court, and a marked unit deployed to the area to speak to the occupants.
Cannabis use, catapults and various other drug paraphernalia were present in the vehicle. The driver also had a long wait after being drugs wiped and (thankfully for him) came in under the limit. I think it served as a wake-up call after only recently starting to drive.
The other occupants were given out of court disposals for cannabis possession, and one dealt with for an incident in Bransgore Village Hall a couple of weeks ago.
This vehicle information was only actionable because of the public reporting suspicious activity to use so please keep doing so.
We have also been investigating a shoplifting incident in Poulner where the thief was in such a rush to get away that he left his coat and balaclava behind. They were located a short distance from the store, and we presume, an effort to change his identity. Iām sure they will yield a DNA match in the coming days.
We also had a vehicle recently that was suspected to be involved in hare coursing, left in the middle of the road after the driver ran out of talent on a bend. It is a miracle that nobody hit it, as the occupants fled the scene before police arrival showing no regard for anyone else. However the registered keeper has questions to answer soon.
We hope you all have a good week and please keep the info coming š
